The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station Research Foundation, Inc.

is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2007 to support the scientific research and public outreach of the scientists of The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station (CAES).

 

The CAES Research Foundation develops innovative opportunities for partnerships involving industry, philanthropic organizations, and private contributions that support our mission to advance scientific knowledge, improve environmental quality, and enhance human health for the benefit of the citizens of our State and the nation.

 

 

Current Research Projects:

 

  • The Community Foundation of Greater New Haven, Fund for Women and Girls
    Middle School Girls’ Science Mentorship Program targeted to disadvantaged New Haven area middle school girls, this unique mentorship will support the science education of girls by providing them with the opportunity to experience “real world” science in actual laboratories under the mentorship of professional Scientists.

  • The Connecticut Department of Agriculture, Agriculture Viability Grants
    A Comprehensive Plant Health Website to Assist New England Farmers we are developing comprehensive, state-of-the-art website serving Connecticut and New England farmers, the agricultural community, and gardeners with timely, in-depth information on local plant health issues and guidelines for obtaining an accurate diagnosis of specific plant problems.

  • Propane Education Research Council
    Controlling Invasive Japanese Barberry Using Propane Torches this important environmental and public health research seeks to reduce tick populations and human incidences of Lyme disease by controlling this invasive plant.

  • Webster Bank
    The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station Food Donation Program this program helps support the operational costs of our crop research programs that produce tons of fresh fruit and vegetables that are donated to Connecticut food banks, food pantries, and soup kitchens to assist Connecticut residents in need of hunger relief.
